Dil Chahta Hai to Rock On - Bidding farewell to an era

A few of my old college friends decide to call for a get together this Sunday. And since I was not doing much over the weekend, I readily agreed. We met up in the evening somewhere near Jayanagar, and decided to have dinner at a small resort off Kanakpura Rd called Holiday Village.

We all passed out of college in 2002, and it had been almost 6 years since I had met a few of them. So it was amazing to find out what each of us was upto. One of my friends had already completed his MS, a few others well settled in IT companies, one of them married, and some more on the verge of getting married. There were also cool new cars and bikes possessed by people who once hung from the foot boards of BTS buses to reach college early morning ;-) .

The food was decent and we played a bit of pool and carrom which added to our fun evening. Coincidentally, I saw the movie Rock On a few days back, which reminded me not only about the favourite college movie of our times, Dil Chahta Hai, but also all the magic moments in our college life. The get together cheerfully reasserted the fact, just like both of the Farhan Akhtars movies, our lives have also moved to a new phase, a phase which probably is a beginning of a new era !

Ek ladki ka phone number.... mere kaam ka ek paper....

...... kabhi khud pe hansa main.. aur kabhi khud pe roya.. ! "
